May 2019 Update:

The Boy’s Dorm renovation is underway. To help us remember this huge undertaking, everyone that partners with the MN Conference by donating $50 or more will receive this commemorative medallion.

Remember for May, funding is being matched up to $25,000.00 by the Bormes Family in memory of Vicki Bormes, Robert Bormes Jr and Stephanie Bormes and in honor of their parents Robert and Darlene Bormes. The Dorm is being fixed from the foundations on up.

Matthew 7:24-27 (NASB)

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

We all remember this passage on the importance of a good foundation. Since 1954, the campground has helped many of us build up strong personal foundations through its camps and conferences. By rebuilding, we are investing in future generations to also have the chance to come together at camps and conferences for their own training.

April 2019 Update:

Friends and Supporters of Long Lake Bible Camp,

The renovation of the boy’s dorm is truly a monumental undertaking unlike any of our other projects at the campground. Meetings with  Environmental Services have been both time consuming and expensive. Being in the Sauk River Chain of Lakes recreational area, has presented unique challenges as we have moved through the permitting process. We are thankful for those of you who have encouraged us with your support of prayers and donations.

As we move forward, we are launching our fund raising with an opportunity for you  to double your donation through a matching funds grant. As a family legacy, the Bormes family has offered matching funds up to $25,000.00 in memory of Vicki Bormes, Robert Bormes Jr and Stephanie Bormes and in honor of their parents Robert and Darlene Bormes. This matching funds grant will expire on  June 1, 2019. Meeting this matching funds grant will bring us halfway to our building  goal of $100,000.00.

Since 1954, the ministry at the Long Lake Bible Camp has impacted so many of you and your children’s lives as we all have been transformed by learning more about God and his son Jesus the Christ. Many of you have committed your lives to God here at the camp though baptisms and weddings. The campground is truly a very special place.

December 2017 Notification:

Dear Friends and Supporters of Long Lake Bible Camp,

The ministry that the Long Lake Bible Camp provides has already impacted thousands of people for Christ.  Lives have been transformed, as they had the opportunity to set aside everyday life activities and meet with God surrounded by the beauty of His creation.

Since the camp started in 1954, each year has been a reason to celebrate this continuing ministry.  In order to enhance and continue the effectiveness of this ministry, we are requesting gifts of money to provide assistance for the ongoing challenges of maintaining and renovating our aging facilities.  As you tour the island, you will notice many improvements.  Chapel renovations, new kitchen renovations, remodeled bathrooms, new playground equipment, new windows in the girls dorm and a fresh coat of paint are among the many changes that have taken place to help us upgrade and meet newer code requirements.

We would like to start now on the boys dorm, and put in a new foundation and footings, because the current foundation is caving in.  The cracks and gaps that have occurred allow bugs and small creatures to enter and invade the space.  We will also need to replace  the insulation and sheetrock on the ceilings and walls and seal up any open areas.

We are planning on starting this project next Spring, 2018.  But we need your help.  This will be a major renovation and will cost an estimated $40,000.

As stewards of what God has given, we encourage you to consider a gift of $50, a gift of $100, a gift of $250 or more.  Of course, any amount will help us reach our goal! Would you consider making a donation today?

For either option please earmark your donation for the “Boys Dorm” campaign.  There is still time to make a tax deductible end of the year donation to help get this important project funded.

Your financial support will help ensure that Long Lake Bible Camp continues to impact lives for Christ until He returns.
