I was doing some reading online and ran across Pyramids.
OK, I knew Pyramids were in Egypt:

and I remembered they were also in Mexico, though more of the step pyramid version:

But what I didn't know was that there were pyramids in:

Sudan:

Indonesia:

China:

Canary Islands:

Greece:

Peru:

Brazil:

Bolivia:

Japan:

Guatemala:

Tahiti:

Samoa:

England:

Turkey:

Mauritius off Africa:

In fact, if you look at this map, notice all of the geographically different locations that pyramids have been found in.

Any idea why that might be?

Where do you think so many people might have learned the same architecture structure…?

The Hebrew word for tower used in Genesis 11, referring to the Tower of Babel, is migdal: a tower; but also has a 2nd meaning figuratively as a pyramidal bed of flowers.
Of course this flower bed is triangular, not pyramidal, but you get the idea.

Infesting the word means tower, but has a 2nd meaning of flowerbed in a pyramidal shape. Something to think about.

This was originally the end of this devotion…. But then I ran across something interesting. There is an actual sketch of the tower of Babel.

I guess I never considered how long this tower might have lasted. However, it was still standing when Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were taken into captivity. King Nebuchadnezzar II wanted to tear down this old dilapidated tower and rebuild it. Some of the documentation about that survived, as well as a sketch of the tower.

Here is the information transferred to paper. Very similar to a step pyramid, isn’t it?

Later there was text found from a Greek historian named Herodotus and he said:

The tower was still in existence in my time.
It had a solid central tower, one stadium square.
A second tower was erected on top, then a third and so forth, up to 8.

A spiral running around the outside allows you to climb all eight towers. Half way up there are seats for those who make the ascent to rest on. On the summit of the topmost tower stands a great temple with a fine large couch and a golden table.
The shrine has no image.

History texts show that Alexander the Great had it torn down with plans to rebuild it, but his early death canceled the plans.

Makes you think about all the pyramid shapes around the world!
