The men at our church have a monthly men’s breakfast and my husband is in charge of finding videos to watch and discuss with the group. Often, I get to preview them with him, and sometimes come across a gem like this that I end up using myself to teach with.

It’s called Black Genocide in 21st Century America. And this video was so thought-provoking and moving that I used it to teach a women’s class, showed it at the Family Camp we attend and it was the basis of the class I taught at the teen youth camp this summer.

It’s that good.

Before I get into telling you about it, I want to issue one small warning. There is some content (one part in particular) that we found to be pretty vulgar (and frankly, not applicable to the rest of the piece). We skipped it when using it to teach. So if you plan to show this to a group, I really recommend that you preview it first and are prepared to self-edit if you choose. And keep in mind, also, that although there’s not graphic content, this is heavy subject matter and more suitable for teens and adults.

Planned Parenthood’s Dark Ties

The ties between Planned Parenthood and the eugenics movement are undeniable. If you’re not familiar with eugenics, it is basically the desire to improve the population through selective breeding. Interestingly, the father of eugenics, Francis Galton, was the cousin of Charles Darwin. He was inspired by Darwin’s Origin of the Species (did you know the full title is actually On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.). And Darwin’s own son was deeply active in the eugenics movement as well. Clearly, the introduction of the idea of evolution was the primary factor in the development of eugenics.

Adolf Hitler was another proponent of eugenics, and in fact based the concept of concentration camps and the purifying of the races on writings by the American Eugenics Society. He courted members of the group, and several Nazi scientists wrote articles and spoke at their events.

It was after WWII that the American Eugenics Society/Birth Control Society (of which Margaret Sanger was a leader) decided that distancing themselves from the term ‘eugenics’ and other terms like ‘control’ would better suit their purpose. It was then that they created Planned Parenthood.

The video traces all of this history with letters, newspaper articles, and quotes by the key players. It then goes on to unravel the disgusting history of forced sterilizations and the legalization of abortion in America. And it is not politically one sided. Audio tape, letters, and articles implicate people on both sides of the political aisle.

The First Pro-Life Activists

Did you know that the first pro-life voices were actually Civil Rights activists? They clearly saw that abortion was an attempt at shrinking the black population. Sadly, when political dollars started rolling in, opinions changed. Again, all of this is documented in the film with direct quotes and news articles.

While blacks make up just 12% of the population in America, they make up 37% of all abortions. That is amazingly out of proportion!

Also, Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics are disproportionately located in black and minority neighborhoods. Not simply in low-income areas. What I mean is, not in poor white areas…they are specifically planted in minority areas.

I saw a commercial recently showing how cigarette manufacturers were targeting minorities and was heartbroken that they can’t see that this targeting has even more dire results. According to the CDC’s 2012 data, among African-Americans, there were 435 abortions for every 1,000 live births. And it’s all under the guise of ‘controlling your own body’. Lies. Lies. Lies.
