“My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.” Psalm 62.5
The sounds of silence are the springboard of hope. Despair and discouragement shout loudly to our wounded soul, but silence in God’s presence is healing therapy. In quietness before Him, objectively and perspective are restored. The loud, jaded voices of despair and circumstances diminish as restoring quietness remind us of reality from an eternal perspective. In divine quietness, the truth of Proverbs 3:5 shines through: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.”
How fickle and misguided our own limited understanding is! Can we be certain that it hasn’t comes from biased and limited misinformation? Is our understanding unequivocally error-proof? We know the answers to these questions, which is why we return in silence to the One who alone is worthy of unqualified trust. In silence, we wait for Him alone. He is the source and fountain of all hope. In silence we are again reminded that He truly is “the God of hope” Romans 15:13.
