I. Old Testament Texts:
“14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated
from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou
art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which you see, to thee will I give it, and to
thy seed forever.16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the
earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy
seed also be numbered. 17 Arise,
walk through the land in the length of it and in
the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.” Genesis 13:14-17. Also see Genesis 17:1-9; 18:18, 19; 21:18;
22:15-18; 26:2-5; 28:13-15; 35:10-12; and
48:4-6, 19-22.
“18 In the
same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river
of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: 19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and
the Kadmonites, 20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.” Genesis 15:18-21.
“ Moses my servant is dead; now
therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the
land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3 Every
place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. 4 From
the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the
great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great
sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.” Joshua 1:2-4.
“30 The
righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit
the earth.” Proverbs 10:30.
“31 Behold,
the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the
wicked and the sinner.” Proverbs
11:31.
“6 Yet
have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. - “8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the
heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” Psalm 2:6, 8.
“13 His
soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.” Psalm 25:13.
“3 Trust
in the LORD and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou
shalt be fed.9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they
shall inherit the earth. 10 For
yet a little while, and the wicked
shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it
shall not be. 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight
themselves in the abundance of peace… 16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches
of many wicked. 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be
broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. 18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their
inheritance shall be forever… 20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall
they consume away. 21 The
wicked borrowed, and payed not again: but the
righteous showed mercy, and giveth. 22 For
such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a good man
are ordered by the LORD: and he delighted in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be
utterly cast down: for the LORD upholds him with his hand. 25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen
the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread… 28 For the LORD loves judgment and forsakes not his saints; they
are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut
off. 29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein
forever… 34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall
exalt thee to inherit
the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. 35 I have seen the wicked in great power and spreading himself like a green bay tree. 36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he
could not be found. 37 Mark the perfect man and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. 38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed
together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.” Psalm 37:9-11, 16-25, 28,
29, 34-38.
“35 For
God will save Zion and will build the cities of Judah: that they
may dwell there and have it in possession. 36 The seed also of his servants shall
inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.” Psalm 69:35, 36.
“8 He
shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river
unto the ends of the earth.” Psalm 72:8.
“16 …build up Zion…” Psalm 102:16.
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth hath he given to
the children of men.” Psalm
115:16.
“17 For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former
shall not be remembered or come to mind. 18 But
be glad and rejoice forever in what I create.” Isaiah 65:17, 18.
“31 Thou, O king, saw, and behold a great image. This
great image, whose brightness was excellent,
stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. 32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of
silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, 33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron
and part of clay. 34 Thou saw till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet
that were of iron and clay and brake them to pieces. 35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver,
and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of
the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no
place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a
great… 44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of
heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and
the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and
consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45 Forasmuch
as thou saw that the stone was cut out of the
mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass,
the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the
king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the
interpretation thereof sure.” Daniel 2:31-35, 44, 45.
“13 I saw
in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man
came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and
they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom,
that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion
is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom
that which shall not be destroyed…“18 But
the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the
kingdom forever, even for ever and ever… 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High and
shall wear out the saints of the most High and think to change times and
laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and
the dividing of time. 26 But the
judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his
dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of
the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to
the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting
kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my
countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.” Daniel 7:13-15; 18, 25-28.
II. New Testament Texts:
“10 Thy
kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in
heaven.” Matthew 6:10.
“5 Blessed
are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5. “17 And
now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did
also your rulers. 18 But
those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth
of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall
come from the presence of the Lord. 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto
you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world
began.” Acts 3:17-21.
“6 Even
as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness. 7 Know
ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are
the children of Abraham. 8 And
the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify
the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall
all nations be blessed. 9 So then
they which be of faith are blessed with faithful
Abraham. 27 For as many of you as have
been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek,
there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for
ye are all one in Christ
Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the
promise.” Galatians 3:6-9, 27-
29.
“11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and
godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God,
because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the
elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless, we, according to His promise, look
for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” 2 Peter 3:11-13.
“15 And
the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in
heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall
reign for ever and ever. 16 And
the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell
upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art, and was, and art to come; because
thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the
time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest
give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them
that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which
destroy the earth. 19 And the temple of God was opened
in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament:
and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings,
and an earthquake, and great hail.” Revelation 11:15-19.
“And I saw a new heaven
and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first
earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new
Jerusalem, COMING DOWN FROM GOD OUT
OF HEAVEN, prepared as a
bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I
heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them,
and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be
their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be
no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more
pain, for the former things have passed away. 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And
He said to me, “Write, for these words are true
and faithful.” 6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the
Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 21:1-5.
Conclusion:
“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life,
clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne
of God and of the Lamb. 2In the
midst of the street of it, and on either side of
the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of
fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree
were for the healing of the nations. 3 And
there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall
be in it; and his servants shall serve him:4 And
they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no
candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light:
and they shall reign for ever and ever. 6 And he said unto me, These sayings are
faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel
to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he
that keeps the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” Revelation 22:1-7.
“17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let
him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is
athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take
the water of life freely. 18 For I
testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If
any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the
plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if
any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall
take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from
the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifies these things
saith, Surely, I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” Revelation 22:17-21.
