We went to bed like any other normal night. Then at 12:30 in the morning, Denise (my wife) and I were woken by a boom. Then we heard a bunch of police sirens .... that all appeared to end right at our house...
I asked Denise, are we ground zero for something? We got up, checked the window.... we were.
The SUV was crashed just outside of my son Philip's room, having passed my wife's and my bedroom.
We heard the police demanding that the perpetrators leave their vehicles:
and finding the vehicle was empty:
We had Philip grab a sleeping bag and come into our room to sleep, at this point we didn't know if one might be trying to break in, so I wanted everyone in one spot in the house.
By examining my video feed at the rear of the house, we found the perpetrators had already fled. If you check out the video, you will see one of them at the upper right, then the other going right by the camera:
you can hear where the vehicle hits the tree as well. We reviewed our garage video and found they didn't break in there, so started to relax, thinking that they must be yards away.
Eventually talked to the police when they rang the doorbell and uploaded the video of the perpetrators for them to review to their server.
Made it more difficult for Philip on his first day of college finals, due to lack of sleep, but at least we were all safe! Praise the Lord.
The next day, I went out to examine the yard. Note the tire tracks in the yellow circles.
The perpetrators went right over the yellow Natural gas marker and hit the red "burning" bushes, and the rock behind them, which appears to have rolled into our house. Note yellow arrow of where the rock was, to where it is now.
It also took out a cross solar light. So, between the bush, the cross solar light, and the rock, the SUV was turned away from our house (master bedroom) and back out to the yard, where it hit the tree (minimal damage to the tree).
I believe it is the stone that hit our house that might be what woke us up.
Psalms 18:2
2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Last night, The Lord was our rock, our deliverer, through a red burning bush, a rock, and a solar cross. Praise the lord, that those small things, turned the stolen vehicle away from our bedroom where we were asleep.
