"if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst" Matthew 18:19-20.
Several men in a church were born again through a women’s prayer group. These women determined to collectively pray for these unsaved men, and these prayers were wonderfully answered.
There is power in personal prayer, but Jesus extends a special promise to the unified prayers of two or three. What He promises sounds like a spiritual blank check of sorts, but there is an important condition. The word, "agree," in the original language, means, "the same." The two believers who come together in prayer must be unified not only in what they ask, but unified as believers. Thus, we see an important principle: unity equals unlimited prayer potential. Conversely, hindrances in corporate prayer are found in disunity.
Imagine what would happen if two believers, unified and in agreement, joined together in praying, "Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." What kingdom purposes might be unleashed in the world today? As vital as personal prayer is, small group prayer has spiritually explosive power to impact the world with kingdom initiatives.
Will you seek out one or two believers, and unite together for the purpose of prayer? Will you commit yourselves to unified prayer for specific kingdom purposes? In so doing, a mighty kingdom revolution will quietly begin in and through you today.
