Reaching Those That Have Not Heard

“How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!’” Romans 10:14-15.

There is a general assumption that most people have had opportunity to hear the gospel. Perhaps so, but my experience is that most people have heard a deficient gospel; devoid of the actual message of Jesus. Acts 8:12 is an important summary of this message to be declared - “the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ.” Jesus stated in Matthew 24:14, “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

As troublesome as our times are, true believers long for the soon return of Jesus. According to His words in Matthew 24:14, the role we can play in His Second Coming is to declare and advance the Acts 8:12 gospel. How can people respond in faith to this true gospel if they haven’t heard it? How will they hear it unless someone tells them? How will someone tell them if they haven’t responded to the call to declare it? And the fact is, each of us who have heard and believed are those called to go and tell.

Perhaps I am naive, but I suspect that the general lack of response to the gospel these days is that they haven’t heard the true Acts 8:12 gospel. The only way this can be proven is through actually sharing this full gospel with others. If we who have been enlightened concerning it don’t share it, who will? Consider this your call to share.
