“Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Sometimes we have a relatively clear understanding of where we are and where we are going, but there are other times when the way seems enshrouded in fog. In such times trust becomes more important than understanding.
Abraham, the man of faith, left his homeland without knowing the destination. The children of Israel stood before the Red Sea with no visible path forward. The disciples followed Jesus without knowing everything that lay ahead. The details had already been divinely worked out even though they were not evident in the moment.
We often want God to reveal the entire path before we take the first step. But we are frequently given just enough light for the next step, but not for the entire journey.
Perhaps you're facing something today that doesn't make sense. You may not know what God is doing, but you can still know who God is. As an old saying goes, I may not know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.
In many ways, every day is a venture into the unknown. We may be surprised by an unexpected blessing, but we might also be surprised by an unexpected challenge. Either way, God’s already got this. So take the next faithful step.
We don't have to understand the entire path and journey to trust the One who knows where it leads.
