Joy

What is your great source of joy? Your spouse? Children? Grandchildren? Job? Sports? Hobbies? How about this: "I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth." (3 John 4)

A spiritual father found great joy in learning that his spiritual children were obediently living and acting according to truth. This is ultimately what it means to imitate Christ, because He was and is the embodiment of truth.

Truth in action is a powerful force. What we speak of truth can impact others, but how we live truth has the greatest impact. A skeptical world is not anxiously waiting to hear what we have to say, but it will note our words as they see them in action in our lives. "But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves." (James 1.22)

We have the opportunity today to be "truth in action" by how we live. Our truth lifestyle can greatly impact coworkers, neighbors, family, schools, and communities. As such, we will bring great joy to them, our Father, and Jesus the living truth.
