"Then I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder, When he opens no one will shut, When he shuts no one will open" Isaiah 22:22.

The key to everything is God's Messiah, Jesus. With Him, everything is literally an open and shut door. And it is interesting that He identified Himself by these words to the church at Philadelphia: "He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: 'I know your deeds Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name'" Revelation 3:7-8.

The Jewish religious leaders who were instrumental in having Jesus killed, also vigorously opposed the work of His disciples. As crisis and confrontation loomed, a wise man named Gamaliel said, "So in the present case, I say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or action is of men, it will be overthrown; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God” Acts 5:38-39.

If we are in step with Jesus, we can be confident of what we might call divine momentum. That which He is directing has forward inertia, and nothing or no one can stop it. To be with Him in this force is to be absolutely unstoppable! So, a key question to ask today is: are the things I am involved with in harmony with Jesus' plans and work? If so, we are a force to be reckoned with. That, however, does not guarantee we will have an easy go of it in that Paul stated, "a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries" 1 Corinthians 16:9. We have an enemy who is strongly opposed to divine momentum, although he ultimately is powerless to stop it.

May we be responsive to open doors and divine momentum today and every day.
