Leadership

"Behold, a king will reign righteously And princes will rule justly. Each will be like a refuge from the wind And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry country, Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land" Isaiah 32:1-2.

The musical, Camelot," first performed on Broadway in 1960, is best known for the line, "Don't let it be forgot/ That once there was a spot/ For one brief, shining moment/ That was known as Camelot."

King Solomon's majestic reign might have been comparable to that of the mythical King Arthur, but it is vastly eclipsed by the reign of the coming king referred to by Isaiah. His leadership will be perfectly right, and His subordinate leaders will be perfectly just. There has never been a government system even remotely close to that which is to be.

Every election cycle in this country brings at least a certain amount of hopefulness that elected leadership will usher in better conditions. Rarely is that the case.

Rather than nostalgically pining for a Camelot era of long ago, we eagerly await the literal coming of a king who, along with just princes, will bring to this earth the ultimate form of perfect government. And, not only that, this king comes today to those who will accept and submit to His perfect system of government for their personal lives. He brings great peace and order to the lives of His people as a preview of what He brings in the coming kingdom of God. Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus (1 Corinthians 16:22).
