"God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they." Hebrews 1:1-4

Jesus is God's last word to us. The age of the prophets of old is over, and Jesus is now God's exclusive mouthpiece. As the central idea and plan behind God's creative work, Jesus is destined to inherit all that God has made. Fully representing His Father, He has paid the price that we could never pay, and is now seated at a position of honor at His Father's right hand.

Now, what makes this important to us is that we have a direct line to God through Jesus. It's as if we can pick up a cell phone and speak directly to God because Jesus serves as the connection. And that connection allows us to hear from God about His plans; plans to turn everything that He has created over to His Son, and us as well.

I don't have personal and easy access to the Oval Office of the White House, and you likely don't either. But, according to Hebrews 1:1-4, we have direct access to the throne room of the Creator of the Universe. We are privileged above all people.

This is a great day to take full advantage of our privileged status. It is well stated in Hebrews 10:20,22 "Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus ... and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."

We have been invited, as those blood-bought by Jesus, to come and commune. I pray that we have a rich encounter today in doing so.
