He is Coming

“Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood-- and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father--to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen" Revelation 1:5-7.

The incomparable Christ is the ultimate truth teller. Standing before Pontius Pilate He declared, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice” (John 18:37). None has more faithfully served as witness to the truth than Jesus.

The incomparable Christ is the firstborn of the dead. As is stated in 1 Corinthians 15:20, “But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.” Were this not true, we would have little reason for faith or hope. As the firstborn of the dead, He is the precedent and prototype for our ultimate destiny.

The incomparable Christ is the ruler of the kings of the earth. They may not know it now, but all will bow down in submission at His feet one day.

Having released us from our sins through His blood and love, we have been elevated to high positions of honor in His kingdom - as priests to His God and Father.

In fulfillment of a great prophecy and promise in Daniel 7:13, the incomparable Christ is destined to come with the clouds in power and victory. All will see, and all will respond; those who have opposed and even put Him to death will mourn, but we will rejoice.

All these things are well established fact, and are verified with the twice-stated, “Amen.” The faithful witness, firstborn of the dead, and ruler of the kings of the earth has loved us and released us from the bondage of sin. We are set free to love and serve Him, and to look with great anticipation for His coming with the clouds.

These Monday morning thoughts might be exactly what you need this day. The beginning of a work week is not the most greatly anticipated day by many. But it can serve to remind you that there is day coming in which the extraordinary will break through the ordinary. The incomparable Christ will transform the mundane into the majestic on the day when He breaks through with the clouds. What if that day is this day? Let’s live as if it is so. Come, Lord Jesus!
