"They shall know that I am the LORD their God who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them; I am the LORD their God" Exodus 29:46.

He is the God who relentlessly pursues. Unwavering in His conventional commitment to His people, all that He does is designed for the purpose that “they shall know that I am Yahweh.” He calls His own out of the land of captivity to a place where He may dwell with them, and there they may truly know who He is.

While we were never slaves in Egypt, as the children of Israel were, we have lived in the captivity of sin. Yahweh Jireh, the God Who Provides, has led us out of captivity and into “the promised land,” where we are set apart to know Him, and for Him to reveal himself to us.

Jesus assures us, “So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” John 8:36. If we have acted in faith, repented of our past slavery to sin, and obeyed through water baptism, we have begun the freedom journey. This promised land journey takes us to where the Father reveals Himself to us.

The only way we can know our Father is through His beloved Son. Jesus says, “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him” Matthew 11:27.

We are on a great journey of discovery. A daily walk with Jesus results in Him not only revealing Himself to us, but also His Father’s plans, and the Father Himself. What could be more beneficial, and energizing?

May today be a day of encouraging fellowship with the Father through His Son.
